The curriculum planning of the department not only takes into account the plans of internationally and domestically renowned institutions but also considers national industrial and technological development, the characteristics and positioning of the department, the expectations of parents and alumni, industry demands, as well as students' personal development and career planning. We provide students with the most useful course arrangements for their future academic pursuits, research, or employment needs in terms of both general and professional competencies. Based on the trends in mechanical technology development, we offer students the most relevant and useful course arrangements. We also gradually increase elective courses to actively meet students' learning needs and achieve the overall and individual learning objectives of the department. In order to fulfill the department's mission of "cultivating mechanical engineering talents with both theoretical and practical abilities" and enhance teaching and research capabilities, we aim to develop graduates with core competencies. Recent development focuses include:
Future development will mainly focus on the development of electromechanical integration and control technology. In addition to designing a variety of rich elective courses in this direction, we regularly invite external scholars or industry elites to give lectures to broaden students' horizons and help them understand the current situation and development of the academic or industrial field in Taiwan. Meanwhile, our faculty members will lead graduate students in actively engaging in relevant research. Besides achieving significant results in various research projects commissioned by government agencies, we also anticipate substantial output in terms of related papers and patents.
Furthermore, as industry-academia cooperation is an important way for teachers to translate research results into practical applications, it will also be a key focus of our program in the future. Currently, in addition to individual professors having collaboration contracts with companies, we have established several promotion groups based on the expertise of our faculty members and the characteristics of nearby industries:
